Presenter: Charlie Phelps MBA, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
This presentation will discuss Strategic Planning within an organization and the integral role of human resource professionals. It will cover the difference between strategic and tactical planning, how to get started, the different phases of planning and tools to improve human resources focused strategic planning.
Charlie has over 30 years of professional HR experience, primarily in oil and gas. He has also worked in non-profit healthcare, environmental services, and New Mexico State government. His HR experience has included everything from hiring to firing. He believes HR’s role is to turn people and processes into productivity and profit. He enjoys both tactical and strategic roles as a manager and an individual contributor. He also enjoys researching topics such as leadership, coaching and employee behavior.
