Position: Local Veterans Employment Representative (LVER)
Attended and graduated from Farmington High School in 1988. Joined the United States Navy after graduation and served 20 years as an Aviation Electrician working on Tactical Jamming Aircraft out of Whidbey Island, WA, serving as a Safety Officer, Certified Instructor (Master Training Specialist), Quality Assurance Leading Supervisor, Workshop Lead Supervisor, Damage Control Officer and several leading positions. Attained an Associate’s of Arts from Columbia College of Missouri while still active duty.
After retiring from the Navy, returned to Farmington NM, and started working in the oil field industry. During this time he enrolled at San Juan College on the Vocational Rehab Program through the VA. Attaining an Associate’s of Business Administration, following a transfer to UNM and receiving a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the Anderson School of Management.
Striving to help fellow veterans expand their potential in their communities he worked with UNM San Juan Center as an Instructional Television Coordinator. He also worked at the San Juan College Veteran Center under the grant funded Veteran Upward Bound Program helping veterans start and stay in college.
After the grant ran its course he applied for the Local Veterans Employment Representative position with the state of New Mexico. He is currently employed at the Workforce Connection office on Arrington, and assisting veterans and employers with programs and understanding educational opportunities.
